SA Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP) Practice Test

Yielding to approaching aircraft is a critical aspect of maintaining safety in airport operations. When a driver fails to yield, they could obstruct the path of an aircraft that is landing, taking off, or taxiing. This can lead to severe accidents, risking the safety of passengers and crew on board the aircraft, as well as the safety of ground personnel and vehicles in the vicinity.

The consequences of such actions can be significant, including severe injury or fatalities, as well as damage to property and equipment. Additionally, legal repercussions could arise from negligence, along with potential penalties from airport authority, which may include suspension or revocation of the individual's driving privileges on the airside. This underscores the paramount importance of adhering to safety protocols and yielding to aircraft at all times.
